How do GP practices in Islington make their services accessible to patients with a communication support need?

Summary

We recruited volunteer mystery shoppers with an experience of a range of access needs. They visited GP practices in the borough asking to register with the practice, in order to see whether they were asked about their communication support needs.

Key findings

  • Six of the 29 practice registration forms asked about communication support needs associated with disabilities and sensory impairment.
