Summary
Healthwatch staff and volunteers interviewed six managers of homes in Islington about access to health services for care home residents. We also hosted a virtual meeting for residents and relatives.
- It was encouraging to hear how services adapted at the start of the pandemic to continue to provide care to some of our most vulnerable residents.
- For dental care and eye care, some care homes seemed to have more responsive service provision than others.
- Hospital transport continues to be a big issue for care home residents.
