Urgent and same day GP services
Feedback from patients at the Angel Medical Centre walk in service, and from the wider community
Summary
We interviewed service users at the Angel Medical Centre walk in service over 2 days in August, to find out what they thought of the service. We also invited the Islington Patient Group, and the local community more broadly, to express their preference between two proposed models for urgent GP services.
Key findings
- The current service provided at the Angel Medical Centre is very highly thought of by the people who use it.
- There was no clear preference for how urgent GP services should be offered in the future.
- Whatever the new model ends up being, it is important that the strengths of the current model are not lost, even as its weaknesses are addressed.
