Residents from communities experiencing health inequalities share feedback on health services

We asked people about their experiences of seeing a GP, using pharmacy services and getting treatment for Long Covid.

Summary

  • We spoke to 212 residents about their experiences of accessing a GP. Over half found the experience of booking an appointment difficult. Many struggled to get through by phone. The triaging process was a barrier. Difficulties contributed to patient anxiety.
  • We spoke to 147 residents about pharmacy services. They rated them highly and reported good experiences. They saw pharmacy as the most accessible health service.
  • We spoke to 31 residents who had experienced Long Covid. Those who had approached their GP for help were generally positive about their experience, though there were limits on the support that was offered and a small number reported a poor experience.
