Emergency department, general practice, or pharmacy services?
A number of people use hospital emergency departments when they could be seen by a GP or in their local pharmacy. What factors influence how we decide where we need to be seen?
Summary
We talked to local residents and ran a series of focus groups:
- We found that across all groups there was some confusion about what constitutes a serious enough need for treatment at an emergency department.
